Description
Etching of 1918 showing Rotterdam harbour — the motif Rensburg never let go. From his home town of those years, Rotterdam, where he lived and worked from 1902 to 1932, he recorded the river Maas, the quays and the shipping traffic for decades; water and harbours form, beside the town views, the backbone of his oeuvre.
The trade offered this etching at an asking price of EUR 1,450 (Mefferdt & De Jonge, via Gallerease) — an asking price, not a transaction price, but a documented indication of the current market level for the artist’s Rotterdam etchings.
Provenance: art dealers Mefferdt & De Jonge, via Gallerease — gallery documentation.
