Beschrijving
Oil on canvas, signed lower left ‘Eug. Rensburg’ — a market full of stalls, with vegetable sellers and shoppers among the town façades. Paintings form a scarce minority in the oeuvre of Eugène Rensburg (1872–1956) beside the far larger body of works on paper.
Market life was a recurring motif in his work, from the Fish market in Utrecht (colour etching, 1925) to the fish market in Gouda. Where the etchings record the town topographically, this canvas captures the market itself: stalls with vegetables, trade and passers-by in a single painting.
Date and dimensions have not been recorded; the work is documented in the gallery files only. A condition report is available on request.
